Morenci Mine ETPS Tailings Project

Located in Eastern Arizona near the New Mexico border, the Freeport-McMoRan Morenci mine site is a open-pit copper mining complex and is one of the largest such in the United States. Spectra Electrical Services, Inc. began work on the project in Sep 2013 and the anticipated completion of the project is Sep 2015. The project consists of the construction of a new Electrical Distribution Building (EDB), branch power distribution, controls and lighting systems feeding the Main Tailings Pump Station, multiple seepage pond sites, the tailings dam material handling automation equipment covering 2 miles of earthen dam and multiple arterial pump stations throughout the seepage collection system. The project covers approximately 10 square miles within the mine complex and has 14 separate "job" sites within the project footprint.
