EMPLOYEE: John Sralik
JOB TITLE: Corporate Safety Director
FAMILY: I have been married for 6 years to my high school sweetheart, Eleanor Malenda Sralik.
NARRATIVE BIO: I was born in southern Maryland and was raised, for the most part, in Northeastern Pennsylvania. My family moved to Arizona the Summer between my junior and senior years of high school. After graduation from high school and about a year of aimlessly navigating college, I enlisted in U. S. Navy. The Navy trained me as a nuclear power plant operator. Once my commitment to the Navy was finished, I embarked on a safety/radiation - safety/industrial hygiene career path. I made stops at commercial nuclear power plants across the United States, Dept. of Energy environmental restoration projects in the Rocky Mountain region, and also numerous construction projects from Tennessee to Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. For the past 5 years, I have be gatekeeper of Spectra's safety program.
FIRST JOB: Shoveling snow for the neighbors in West Pittston, PA. I think we used to get 10 cents a walk.
HERO(ES): My nephew, Mike Sralik III, a soldier in the United States Army and a veteran of the Afganistan War.
HOBBIES:I enjoy exploring Southern Arizona with Eleanor and riding my 2005 Harley Davidson Dyna Low Rider. Eleanor and I also enjoy going on cruises. This April we will be cruising the Eastern Caribbean.
FAVORITE RESTAURANT: Si Senor in Chandler
FAVORITE FOOD: Potato and cheese pierogi and galumpki (piggies)
FAVORITE DRINK: Unsweetened tea (I am the Safety guy)
FAVORITE MOVIE: Goonies. And a very close second is Goodfellas.
FAVORITE BOOK: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

FAVORITE PROJECT I HAVE WORKED ON: I have worked on so many interesting project throughout my career. I really cannot single just one out.
BEST PART OF WORKING AT SPECTRA: Having the trust and respect of the company's owner and leadership is something that I consider the greatest part of working for Spectra. They have entrusted me with a safety program that has world class performance numbers. When hired they said make us better, I answered with "challenge accepted."
